Join CDHA for a remote webinar that will provide treatment options and an evidence based approach to helping individuals with their quit plan.

Course Objectives:


1. Attendee will be able to discuss with patients the different
forms of nicotine delivery systems.
2. Attendee will understand the types and dosing of FDA
approved medications and OTC products to treat nicotine
addiction.
3. Attendee will practice through case studies and
cooperative learning different approaches to counseling
nicotine addicted patients.
4. Attendee will be introduced to the concepts involved with
Motivational Interviewing as an approach to behavioral
change.
About the Speaker:
Sherri Warshaw, RDH, CTTS

Sherri began her career in dentistry 50 years ago as a
dental assistant in Miami, Florida. She graduated Summa
Cum Laude in 1995 from the University of Cincinnati as a
Registered Dental Hygienist. In 2013 she attended the
Mayo Clinic to receive her certification as a Tobacco
Treatment Specialist helping individuals become free of
nicotine addiction. She founded her company Smokefree
Steps, LLC as a venue to reach clients that use all forms of
nicotine. The same year she became a Professional
Educator on Behalf of Waterpik, Inc. As a Waterpik
educator she trains offices in the proper use of the
different models and specific tips.

During her career Sherri has spent decades in the field of
Periodontics as a patient educator and a clinician. She
educated dental hygiene students in proper
instrumentation skills and patient education/
management during their clinical rotation in the clinic at
the University of Cincinnati. Her vast experience in the
field dentistry makes Sherri an expert in the field of
patient education.
